For the last 2 weeks the children at Art Club made Shadow Puppets!
For the first week they got into groups and decided on what characters to make and how they could interact in a short 2 minute play.
Then they got down to work! Designing their characters and cutting them out of black card. Then they attached all the joints together with brass fasteners and attached kebab sticks to the back to animate them.
In the second week the children made slides using coloured lighting filters and paint. Then each group came into the film room to perform each of their plays.
It was so much fun! Here are the results in the finished films!
After the success of making them with a few different Art Clubs and Tuition groups, this year I decided to make you a Craft Video showing you how to make it yourself!
There's lots of options for surface decoration with this project - glitter glues, confetti, craft bits, acrylic paint or wax crayons are just a few options.
Make sure you hang the finished one in front of some sparkly lights for the best effect :D
With just one week to go until Halloween, I thought I'd share this Craft Video I made to help inspire you!
How to Make a Children's Mask is a simple, easy and super fun way to get your children making their own mask for their costume for Halloween. Is it an Old Lady? A Witch? A Troll?
And if you already have your own idea...The process is easily adaptable to suit your own design!
You may remember a little while ago I did Marionette Puppet Making with the children.
The children did fab, making so many different characters using this technique.
Since Halloween is just around the corner I though this would be the perfect time to make a Halloween video!
And what better way than showing you exactly how we made the Marionettes! So here it is:
